Mutual aid refers to the practice of voluntarily pooling together funds, which are used to help its participants. In the real world, this requires trust on the person who holds all the pooled funds. MediShares uses smart contract technology to enforce this in a trustless manner. There are no political borders here. Insurance can be global. Insurers are paid in MDS tokens. MediShares can be used for markets were traditional insurers don't have a policy. It can also be used for vehicle insurance, car insurance, or even to insure crypto-currencies against wallet thefts.
