GAS is a token which powers smart contracts on the Neo blockchain. NEO is aethereum competitor. Ethereum too has a similar system where gas is used by developers to execute smart contracts. However, Ethereum’s gas is denominated in ether. Here, GAS is a separate token. NEO was formerly known as AntShares. GAS has a limit of 100 million tokens and is split evenly between NEO holders. Its primary use will be enabling digital identity and smart contracts on the NEO blockchain.
