Greetings Ellerians!

It’s time to be merry, for we’re back with patch notes of unreleased content and features this upcoming December!

The summoning mage welcomes you back

With one week left on the upcoming Dawn Heroes mint, here is a step-by-step guide on bidding and claiming your heroes for the upcoming auction!

Before we dive deep into the minting process, please note that we are now releasing 250 machinists a week for four weeks instead of all 1,000 at one go to mimic the slow mint-out that Elleria had for the best reception.

  • 1st Auction Period : 12–18th December 2022
  • 2nd Auction Period: 19–25th December 2022
  • 3rd Auction Period: 26th December 2022–1st January 2023
  • 4th Auction Period: 2nd January 2023–8th January 2023

Auction Process

To place a bid, you will require $USDC and on-chain $ELM. When the auction ends, heroes will be allocated to bidders who have pledged the highest $ELM amounts.

The auction will open on 12th December 2022 at 4 am UTC.

Note: The auction was postponed by a week from 5th December to 12th December.

Creating a bid

First, indicate the number of heroes and $ELM you would like to bid for each hero. Each hero costs a standard 50 $USDC, and the total cost of the bid will be indicated below.

Please confirm your total bid before pressing the “pledge bid” button. Approve and execute the transaction to confirm your bid. Once your bid is pledged, it is irreversible and cannot be refunded until the auction is over.

Active Bids

Click on the refresh icon at the top left-hand corner of the page to reload your bids. Your bid will now appear in the “My Active Bids” tab.

You can increase your $ELM bid at any time while the auction is ongoing to secure your heroes. Additional $ELM will be required, and you will only be able to update the entire bid (e.g. if you bid for ten heroes, you must change for all ten at once)

Successful Bids

Upon conclusion of the auction on 18th December 2022 at 3.59 am UTC, successful winners will be airdropped heroes directly into their wallets. Click on successful listings in “My Bid History” to view your heroes.

You may head towards “Manage Souls” to bind your newly acquired heroes in the game.

Unsuccessful Bids

Unsuccessful bids will remain on the “Active Bids” Page. Between the auction distribution and Tuesday’s quest reset, you can press the “cancel” button to cancel your bid and receive a full refund.

Please note that any uncancelled bids will be brought over to the next wave of auction.

May the best bidder win!

2. Dawn Heroes

The four Dawn Heroes have been revealed and are ready to protect Elleria! This article will dive deeply into the Machinist’s stats and Dawn Heroes’ utility.

Machinist

Hero information

100 stat: Intelligence (Main stat)
90 stat: Agility (Sub stat)
75 stat: Will
60 stat: Vitality
60 stat: Endurance
50 stat: Strength

All Dawn heroes have a minimum stat of 10 points. Stat points are randomly generated on-chain.

Dawn heroes do not have a special attack.

Assignments

Dawn heroes can complete Basic tasks like genesis heroes.

Dawn heroes will also be able to participate in a class-specific assignment, ruins scouting, with a minimum stat requirement of 86 INT and 61 AGI and a level requirement of level 2. Machinists can go “Ruin Scouting”, which rewards medals at the same rate as other class-specific assignments.

Ruins scouting rate: (0.2 / 60) + (Main stat— 85) * (0.05 / 60) MEDALS per second

Ruin Scouting… Is this a new area?

Quests

Dawn Heroes will have the same functionality as genesis heroes in terms of questing. They will be limited by quest attempts according to level and can enter any quest so long as they have the medals.

A unique quest in a new region will be available only to machinists
(see below)

Developer's Notes

When it comes to new hero releases, there must be a strict balance of
power to make it strong for new players to want to mint these heroes,
but at the same time, weak to prevent Genesis Heroes holders from
expressing dissatisfaction.

We’ve attempted to balance this by making these new heroes marginally
weaker compared to genesis heroes in terms of average stat, however,
it has the potential to be more powerful at its maximum stats.

Due to the way INT and WIL function in the game, Machinist will
perform better than physical classes in goblin quests due to their
lower WIL, but comparable AGI, VIT and END.

We’ve disabled special attacks for Dawn Heroes, as we are planning to make
a special attack revamp to make them more thought-provoking and engaging.
Dawn Heroes will likely receive a free skill tome nearer to the revamp date.

In terms of utility, there will not be many differences compared to
Genesis Heroes due to the currently functioning game loop. Any alteration
would change the balance of the game.

3. Slime Road

Slime road is here! Groups of slimes have been spotted roaming about the outer walls of Elleria. These slimes are seemingly harmless and will only retaliate upon violence; some even befriended these slimes. However, due to the rumour that they have the potential to drop valuable loot, vile humans have been hunting these for pleasure and profit.

Slime Road — Slime Friend

Blue slime

Slimes are here to stay and play! Will he be your friend or your loot?

Slime Doll

Entry cost: 250 $MEDALS
Entry requirement: Machinist only
Quest Duration: 1 month

Developer's notes
The first slime quest is meant for Dawn Heroes only, as an attempt
to bridge the gap between the progression of new heroes and genesis ones.
This quest will only be rotationally available to new heroes within
the month of release.

Slime road — ???

More slime quests will be revealed over the following weeks for all classes to attempt. Some gruelling quests even require a special key to enter…

All heroes, including genesis heroes, will be able to quest in the upcoming slime road.

Slime Quest Key
Developer's Notes

As it stands, quite a few wallets are choosing not to re-invest $ELM into
the game. It'll be challenging to sustain current prices with the
current rate of ELM emissions from all sources.

Therefore, emissions for Goblin Plains will change as we roll out Slime
quests in the coming month. Goblins will emit less $ELM, whereas emissions
are shifted over to the slime road. In exchange, goblins will start
emitting more relics and medals instead.

ELM will become more challenging to obtain, while shards, relics and
medals will be easier. Player priorities will shift, as those only
grinding $ELM might lose out in other areas compared to those who choose
to optimize their gameplay.

Together with the level revamp, small holders or new wallets will be able
to progress reasonably and effectively, and this shift is an attempt to
#MakeCraftingGreatAgain!

4. Daily and Weekly Task Changes

Weekly Task Board

The daily and weekly tasks have been changed as such:

Monday: Diluted potion
Tuesday: 100 $MEDALS
Wednesday: T1 Goblin Component
Thursday: 200 $MEDALS
Friday: 1 Ellerium Shard
Saturday: 200 $MEDALS
Sunday: Random Elixir (soul-bound)
Weekly: 1 $ELM +1 Lesser Positive Scroll (soul bound stats)

Developer's Notes

Initially, $ELM distributed through daily tasks were meant to give
smaller players a way to craft/disassemble to complete the weekly
tasks. However, it has come to our attention that players might be able
to abuse the $ELM rewards by simply creating multiple wallets to farm
these daily tasks. We initially thought of removing $ELM rewards entirely,
but small players will no longer be able to buy ELM Shards from the
shop to complete the weekly tasks.

To respond to this potential threat, users will now get 1 ELM shard
through dailies to be used for crafting and 1 $ELM to be used in the
following week’s weekly quest. Giving $ELM through weekly quests also
encourages players to remain active throughout the week.

5. Levelling Revamp

Based on feedback from the general community, the levelling system will be updated to accommodate for easier progression.

We will be rescaling levels 1:10. For example, the current level, 1 to 2, would be levels 1 to 10 in the new system. The upgrade costs and combat stats gains are all scaled linearly, and there are no cost increases.

Rescaling the levels also helps to reduce the pain of failing an upgrade.
Please leave your thoughts and ideas in the general chat in Discord about this change.

After the revamp, current heroes will receive the equivalent of their levels in the new system. There will be no change to combat stats or costs.

Additional Notes

  • World boss will be on hold this season while we bid for Dawn Heroes. Once Dawn Heroes have settled down in Elleria, we will begin season 7 to see how these new heroes fare.
  • Batch questing is coming. Due to the community’s feedback, $ELM emissions will not be reduced upon using the auto-battle feature. We will make the gameplay more complex to entice players to use other actions in battle instead.
  • According to the Ellerian scriptures, the Goddess, Elysis, is coming to bless citizen who made a wish at the wishing well soon.
