Thanos
Ethereum Classic is preparing for the Thanos hard-fork expected at block 11_700_000 or around November 28th, 2020. This event will reduce the dag allowing 3 GB and 4 GB mining hardware to mine Ethereum Classic for an extended period of time.
Thanos Hard Fork
Thanos hard-fork: ECIP-1099 is supported in Hyperledger Besu and Core-geth:
- Hyperledger Besu > v20.10.0
- Note: JSON-RPC over HTTP error responses now return 200 status code.
Core-geth > v1.11.7
- Note: 1.11.7 or later fixes a consensus bug when generating the dag.
- Bits of the Epoch. Potential Network Instability Due to a Severe Ethash Library Bug.
