As well as showcasing the InMotion Ventures portfolio, this invite-only evening brings together influential startups and investors in this dynamic sector. They will discuss how the businesses they are building and investing in are changing the way we move, forever.

Suzanne Ashman, LocalGlobe

Suzanne is a Partner at LocalGlobe, the London-based VC fund that has been seeding UK founders for almost two decades. LocalGlobe companies include Citymapper, Improbable and Transferwise. Before joining LocalGlobe, Suzanne spent five years at social impact investing firm Social Finance.

Nic Brisbourne, Forward Partners

Nic is Founder and Managing Partner at Forward Partners, the UK's leading pre-seed and seed stage investor in Applied AI, ecommerce and marketplace startups. Forward Partners has invested in 40 UK-based startups since its inception in 2013. Prior to launching his own fund, Nic was Partner at Draper Esprit and is also author of popular VC blog The Equity Kicker.

Emily Brooke, Blaze

Emily is the Founder and CEO of Blaze, an urban mobility brand creating technology for bike sharing schemes and consumer cyclists. Blaze’s Laserlight product now ships to over 60 countries, and it’s also co-designed the new Santander Cycle for London. Emily left Physics at Oxford University for Design in Brighton, where the Laserlight and Blaze were her final year project.

Alec Dent, BlaBlaCar

Carpooling service BlaBlaCar is now in 22 countries across the globe, and has 50 million members. One of BlaBlaCar’s early employees, Alec now looks after strategic partnerships and will be offering fascinating insight into how they’ve scaled the business.

Erik Fairbairn, Pod Point

Serial entrepreneur Erik founded Pod Point in 2009 and has grown it into Europe’s leading providers of electric vehicle supply equipment. POD Point has already powered over 60 million miles of electric vehicle motoring, and is adding over 1m miles a month.

Hussein Kanji, Hoxton Ventures

Hussein is a founding partner of Hoxton Ventures, a London-based early stage European venture capital firm. He’s also an angel investor, has occasionally assisted the UK government with technology policy, and regularly appears on BBC, Bloomberg, CNN and Sky News.

Hanno Kirner, Jaguar Land Rover

Jaguar Land Rover is the UK’s largest car manufacturer and the parent company of InMotion Ventures. As Executive Director, Corporate and Strategy, Hanno joins us to explain its vision for the future of mobility, and how the activities of InMotion complement it.

Rory Stirling, BGF Ventures

Rory is a Founding Partner of BGF Ventures, the UK’s largest fund dedicated to backing early-stage UK technology companies. Before launching BGF Ventures, Rory was a partner at MMC Ventures, had his own angel-backed start-up and was an investment banker at Greenhill & Co.

Ben Whittaker, Masabi

Masabi is the global leader in mobile ticketing for transportation. As Co-Founder, Ben is the company’s product evangelist and also a security expert with a strong engineering background. Prior to founding Masabi, Ben worked at IBM, Xerox and Raytheon.
