Microservices have transformed Silicon Valley, but the immaturity of tooling, limited infrastructure choices and operational overhead prevents greater traction by the typical enterprise IT department. The rewards and benefits of producing enterprise-grade Open-Source software have largely been muted by the lack of monetization for Open Source, leaving highly skilled Open-Source developers without a way to harvest the true value of their work. The focal point of Wireline will be a microservices exchange: an opportunity for the vast community of Open-Source developers to monetize enterprise-focused projects; a marketplace for businesses to discover, test and integrate microservices that can be seamlessly combined to build customized solutions. Wireline has developed the necessary infrastructure to host and operate these systems, and the platform to support this community.
